Living in college dorms?

Is it worth it? I really would rather not stay at home after graduation and the college i'm going to has dorms for $4000 a year. The rent includes garbage and utilities. I just don't know, if its worth it? What do you think? Anyone lived in dorms that would recommend it? or wouldn't recommend it?
