Safe mode startup problems in thinkpad edge?

Hey there, I'm having problems starting my safe mode in windows 7 for my lenovo thinkpad edge... I try hitting the f8 key and it doesn't work. In the start up it says if I click enter it will interrupt the startup so I do and then it takes me to a page that gives me three options, to escape it, f1 for the BIOS setup utility and f12 with is to choose a temp start up device. I can't find safe mode anywhere!

its pretty difficult you actually wrap it around the pen. but be careful if you mess up, pretty much nothing will happen, and you actaully might not waste a bunch of your time
